If your not playing dirty you're not trying. Acooridng to Lyft, Uber's biggest rival, that is exactly what Uber is doing.
Lyft provided their data to CNNMoney, per a request made when reporting another story on the competition between the two companies, that shows Uber employees have ordered and canceled more than 5,000 Lyft rides since last October.
This is what as known in the taxi community as 'ding-dong-ditch.'Lyft also claims that it's not just a rogue employee or two from Uber, as they found 177 Uber employees around the country have booked and canceled rides in that time frame. Lyft also found that even when Uber employees don't cancel, Lyft drivers complain to headquarters that they take short, low-profit rides largely devoted to luring them to work for Uber.
