
Amazon has just launched another app that proves it is trying to take over the world. Square, founded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, is an app that allows small business to swipe a customers credit card by attaching a device to a smartphone.
Square is used has a stranglehold on this market, however its newest competitor, Amazon Local Register will pose its biggest threat yet.
According to CNNMoney, Square charges 2.75% per swipe, and Amazon Local Register is coming in low at just 1.75% per swipe for businesses that sign up by October, and 2.5% per swipe for those after October. Amazon is also giving its customers their first $10 in transaction fees back so that it will cover cost of its new card reader.
